Hello Neighbor, It's nice to make your acquaintance

Hello Neighbor,
It's nice to make your acquaintance. If you've already looked at the Artisan page then you know my name is Ruth or Ruthie; whichever feels comfortable for you. If not, well now you know.
If you were to meet me in person, you would probably think I was "stuck-up". I say that because that's what people thought of me before they got to know me. I tend to be shy and reserved. I observe my surroundings before finding the right time to jump in. It takes me a while to open up but once I do, you'll find me to be spontaneous, joyful, and silly, with an awkward sense of humor. People say I'm funny because of the things I say. I think it depends on who you ask because others have said I'm too blunt. I'm working on processing my thoughts before I say them.
I live in North Carolina with my bougie husband! Haha, I say he's bougie but he's also a wonderful, thoughtful, & caring man. He spoils me more than I'm comfortable with. We have three children together that are just as bougie, joyful, and adventurous as we are!
I feel I've always been artsy; whether that was through drawing, crafting, or something that included markers, glue, and paper. I believe I began focusing on my craftmanship after I got married. I created memorable scrapbooks for a long time and then would go through seasons of not crafting. However, Last year, while in the pandemic, I came across a video on YouTube about junk journaling. It looked intriguing and I wanted to try it out. So, when my sister mentioned needing a journal, I jumped at the opportunity to volunteer my services of making her one. May of 2021 Papyrus Treasures started with her, only, I didn't know it yet.
I continued creating "junk journals" not just for her but for quite a few people who became interested. In fact, the people rallied for me to open an Instagram account. I'm not big on social media so I resisted for quite some time. After a while, I had to give the people what they wanted. I finally created an Instagram page called Ruthie-Rue's Craft Shop- the following month. While that was happening, I wondered if I could possibly turn this into a small business. After talking it over with Mr. Bougie, I filed the paperwork and chose a name (that was the most challenging part) and April 13th, 2022, Papyrus Treasures became official!
Now here I am, working on this website, attempting to keep up with Instagram posts, and enjoying creating journals for those who enjoy crafting, creating, writing, and memory keeping. My love of crafting has only deepened since stumbling upon that video by Treasure Books.
Thanks for stopping in,
Ruthie
