Hey Neighbor,
I am excited! I am excited for a number of reasons. For the month of April, we decided to partner with our friend Ron & Pat Ely & their organization called, "Feeding His Sheep". Pat & Ron are long-time supporters & partners of a few organizations in Haiti that helps children in need. I am of Haitian descent! To be able to help others in my native country brings me abundant joy. Second, I love kids & if there's a kid in need, I'm all for it.
An organization in Haiti, called the El Shaddai School, located near Cap Haitian - are currently caring for 22 orphans (some of them are pictured above). They've been doing so for quite some time but have been struggling to properly house them. The children's situation is okay but could be better.
To make it a better situation, the school is wanting to build an orphanage with a bathroom to house five boys, ages 6-8. Where the children are currently staying, there are no bathrooms! Can you even imagine that? Having a place & not having somewhere to use the bathroom?? Unacceptable! However, this is considered the norm BUT WHY should it be if we can change it??
To make this change, we need to raise at least $7,000. I know this sounds like a lot (especially in today's economy) but together, I believe we can make it happen.I have decided that our company, Papyrus Treasures, will donate 80% of all proceeds to this wonderful & humble cause. So, thank you in advance for every way you will give and whatever you're able to give. It means the world, not only to me but I know, it'll mean the world to those kids. Thank you!
